Early taste of fall

First in a series of occasional posts about day trips from the Linglestown area ...

My family took a trip over the weekend to the northern tier of Pennsylvania to snap some photos of fall foliage. I refer to myself as an "accidental photographer." Below are two of my accidents.

Tree tops in Colton Point State Park, located on the west rim of the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania in Tioga County.

View from a vista located near Worlds End State Park in Sullivan County. This photo shows why this area of the state is referred to as the Endless Mountains Region.

Bonus tourism tidit ... Be sure to stop by the historic Forksville General Store for a bite to eat if you ever take a drive to Worlds End State Park. The owner, Big Mike, is a transplanted Philly guy who bought the store about nine years ago. He kiddingly told me that he found the place after making a wrong turn on the Schuylkill Expressway. Big Mike is a notable sax player, and he does a dinner show every Saturday evening on a small stage in the store’s dining room (reservations are required).
