MEETING - Route 39 redo, Linglestown

Plans for improving traffic flow on Linglestown Road (Route 39) in the village of Linglestown are nearing final approval.

Linglestown-area residents have a chance to discuss the plan with state transportation officials on Wednesday, November 15, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Linglestown Middle School, 1200 N. Mountain Road.

Major changes are proposed, and construction is slated to begin next spring.

During the Lower Paxton Supervisors Workshop meeting of October 10, 2006, the final design plan for traffic flow through Linglestown was presented by Arora and Associates. This includes two "run arounds" on Route 39, one at the square and the other at the west end of Linglestown, near the firehouse. Linglestown will no longer be a "through route."

Plans will be on display before and after the presentation Wednesday evening.
