Linglestown Gazette: Flagpole to take a rest

Flagpole to take a rest

The flagpole that's been located in the square in Linglestown for close to a century is coming down – temporarily.

Plans for a village-wide improvement project call for the pole to be taken down during the early stages of construction tentatively slated to start this summer.

If all goes as planned, the project will be completed sometime in 2009 – and the flagpole will have a new home at the center of the square's roundabout.

In other news, Gazette man-about-town Q reports that St. Thomas Restaurant in the square is now open for business.

Another exclusive update on planned village renovations will be posted tomorrow.

Had lunch at the new St. Thomas restaurant today. Food was great. I hope this place sticks around, it'll be nice to walk to breakfast on the weekends.
