Linglestown closer to public water

If you take a walk through the historic village of Linglestown, one thing you won't see is fire hydrants.

That's because public water service currently isn't available to village residents who live along Route 39 and some side streets. Water lines owned by United Water of Pennsylvania go around the village, but not through it. Property owners get their water from private wells, including some that were hand dug in the early part of last century.

But this situation could soon change.
