Linglestown postcards

Flowers outside the Gazette newsroom are pictured checking out the arrival of spring.

John Micek of Harrisburgh performed a couple entertaining sets of pop-rock tunes for a small but appreciative gathering Friday evening at St. Thomas Roasters coffee house on the square in Linglestown. His songs included a ballad about a California trip gone wrong, and one that got radio airtime in Scandinavia.

The community egg hunt at Koons Park today attracted a sizeable crowd despite the snow that arrived a couple hours before the scrambling started. New Hope Church sponsored the event.

Sounds like a good song.

Question though, was John's performance "world class?"

;-)

Hmmm ... What's world class? I'm no music critic, so I won't go there, bakabaka. :)

John Micek and other artists who grace the stage at Roasters are in it for the love of music, and most performances are very well done.

I hope as time goes on more people opt to hang out few a minutes Friday and Saturday nights at Roasters as a way to experience a bit of Linglestown culture.

A mere jest

I'm glad our little village has a place that opens a stage for musicians and the like. We're pretty lucky if you ask me.
