CD sports: Lady Rams slay Colts in soccer

By Bill Bostic

LEMOYNE (April 26) – The Central Dauphin girls' soccer team blanked the Cedar Cliff Colts 3-0 Saturday in a Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division matchup contested in Lemoyne. The Rams are the top-ranked team in Pennsylvania with a 10-0 divisional record, 13-0 overall.

CD had several scoring opportunities in a scoreless first half, including three free kicks fairly deep in Cedar Cliff territory.

The second half was a different story, as Allicia Yurkovic banged one home off a fast break that started from the half's opening touch.

High-scoring Jocelyn Weidner then netted one off a corner kick in ninth minute. Two minutes later, Weidner scored again after receiving a nice volley into the box from the midfield area.

CD's defense threw up a brick wall in front of senior goalkeeper Amy Gouldner, who was never severely challenged.
