It’s Gazette contest time, again

As predicted on Monday, I did indeed mow my yard for the third time this spring Tuesday. You may be wondering why I’m keeping you abreast of my yard work. Here's the deal – it's Gazette contest time!

Here’s your challenge: Guess how many times I'll mow my yard this mowing season, which will end for contest purposes on November 1, 2008. Remember, I've already done it three times. The winner will receive a prize, possibly a prize package, to be announced at a later time.

CLICK HERE to submit your guess via e-mail. Entry deadline is April 30, 2008 at midnight. Good luck!

You’re fired! Central Dauphin School Board has given Capital Tax Collection Bureau the boot. CLICK HERE for a story by T.W. Burger of The Patriot-News.

Thanks for the plug Hat tip goes out to Linglestown Baseball Association for linking to the Gazette on the association’s Web site. Thanks much!

CD sports After getting nipped by a run Saturday, the Rams baseball team came back Monday to win by a run over Carlisle, 7-6. Andrew Roman's sixth-inning single plated Zach Seaman with the eventual game-winner. Nate Shroy went 3-for-4, while Roman, Tom Healy (two RBIs) and Seaman all cracked two hits for the Rams. The team's overall record is 9-4. … The Sunday edition of The Patriot-News did a feature article entitled “Year of the Ram,” which looks at the high school’s run of state sports championships over the past 14 months.
