Linglestown Monday exclusives

Today's post features items that you will only find on Linglestown Gazette.

Walk around the village

It looks like a construction crew is gearing up to finish work on the municipal parking lot located off of Blackberry Lane behind Linglestown Chocolate Cafe. The utility pole that had been blocking the entrance to the lot has finally been removed.

Linglestown Baseball Association
has erected a new scoreboard at the main midget baseball field located near Koons Park Pool. Opening Day ceremonies will be held on Saturday, April 19 at 11:30 am.

Staying in Koons Park, Lower Paxton Twp. has replaced the fencing at the heavily used volleyball courts. Applications are being accepted for a 12-week summer league that begins in late May and continues through August. CLICK HERE for a team registration form.

Government watchdog … The Lower Paxton Township supervisors will hold a workshop session tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8 at 6 pm, Township Municipal Center, 425 Prince Street. CLICK HERE to view the agenda.

The arts at CD Sunday afternoon I attended the final performance of the CD High School musical The Sound of Music. The cast and crew of the show did an outstanding job. The show’s lead star, Victoria Ernst who portrayed Maria (the part Julie Andrews had in the movie), appears to me to have a future in show biz. Gazette congrats to all who had a hand in producing the spring musical.

Comcast update Comcast’s broadband service was on the fritz for about 7 hours Saturday morning through early afternoon. Several attempts to talk with a telephone customer service rep were unsuccessful, which seems par for the course based on this Web site – COMCAST must DIE! (dot com).

Food drive update Thanks to all who contributed to the food drive last week at Amelia’s Grocery Outlet. I’m scheduled to deliver the donations to the food pantry at Harrisburg Brethren in Christ Church on Wednesday. Check back later in the week for a video report.
