Linglestown Monday need-to-knows

Government watchdog ... Lower Paxton Township supervisors have a busy Tuesday on tap with an administrative workshop scheduled at 4 pm and a regular business meeting at 7:30 pm, Township Municipal Center, 425 Prince Street. Comcast cable subscribers can view a live broadcast of the 7:30 pm meeting on channel 20.

One item of general interest: Under “New Business,” the supervisors will vote on a resolution to form a township Greenway Committee to work on implementing the recently enacted township-wide greenway plan. If you want to apply to serve on the committee, contact the township at 657-5600 or pick-up a volunteer application at the Township Muncipal Center. Those interested in a position will be interviewed by the Parks and Recreation Board, who will recommend members to the township superviosrs for approval.

* Village meeting on tap ... The Village of Linglestown Committee will meet on Thursday, April 17, 7 pm at Linglestown Fire Company’s brick building. The group is charged with assisting the township with the village improvement project tentatively slated to begin construction this summer.

Committee members for 2008 are Eric Kessler, Andrew Christine, James Griffiths, Gary L. Hoffman, John Kepler, Stuart Knade, William E. Minsker, Paul M. Rowe, Joseph Mack, Bill Twillery, Jerry Miller and Pastor G. Barry Stahl.

* New housing development? ... There might be a new housing development in the works somewhere along Wenrich Street. The township planning commission’s meeting agenda for April 9 listed a subdivision plan for Wenrich Heights. Developing story …

What’s up with Koons Pool? Has anyone received a membership renewal form in the mail from Koons Park Pool? If so, please post a comment with 2008 prices.
