Linglestown Gazette: Koons Pool to open later than normal

Koons Pool to open later than normal

The new pool operator is targeting to open the pool by mid-June for the learn-to-swim classes held at the club every summer, according to an e-mail sent to the Gazette by a reader.

Pool spokesman Chuck Barto expects work to clean up the property and pool to be started soon. Former members should receive information on the upcoming pool season in the next couple of weeks.

Some former members may not receive an update because the previous operators did not have a complete membership database. If you don't receive an update, request membership information at the pool after it opens.

Your best bet is to call the township parks and recreation department at (717) 657-5635 and request contact info for the pool.

I called the township today for additional information and they still do not know when it will open and there are no guarantees it will. It's a sad day. We were looking so forward to the pool again this year!
