Driver arrested for using inhalants

Lower Paxton Twp. police received numerous calls early Thursday afternoon about a white van that was being driven erratically on Route 22 in the vicinity of Hoffman Fordland. Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle and driver, later identified as Michael R. Smith, age 38, who has a Fishing Creek Valley Road address in West Hanover Twp.

Smith was in a semi-conscious state behind the wheel of his Chevy van and officers observed an aerosol can between his ear and shoulder. He was charged with reckless driving and driving while impaired.
