Linglestown baseball update

Youth baseball The Pony Division has a new champion – the Owls. They defeated the Rams in the opening round and the Mets in the championship game to become the 2008 Pony Champions. Congratulations!

In the Midget Division, the Tigers defeated the Cubs in the first game of the best-of-three championship series. The second game was played today.

In Teener action this week, Teener A team traveled to Paxton today and will go back on th road to face Susquehanna on Thursday, July 3. Teener B Titans lost to Lower Swatara/Middletown 13-5. They travel to Palmyra for a game on Thursday, July 3. Teener B Phillies hosted Lower Swatara/Middletown today and travel to Susquehanna on Thursday, July 3.

Twilight Willie McCoy homered and Matt Carroll went three-for-three for Steelton in a 5-1 win Tuesday over Linglestown at Koons Park. Steelton pitcher Cam Zimmerman pitched no-hit ball through five and one-third innings, and only yielded a pair of hits in his complete-game performance.

Despite the loss, Linglestown continues to pace the East Shore Twilight league with a 12-5-1 record. They will go at it again Thursday, July 3, at Middletown High School, first pitch at 6 pm.
