Twilight ends regular season with loss

By Steve Econ

LYKENS (July 28) – The last game of the regular season did not end with a bang Monday evening for Linglestown Twilight. The team only had five hits in a 2-1 loss up at Lykens. Jason Kelly had two hits and one run scored, and Rhys Wolford added two hits from the designated hitter spot.

Twilight notes ... Rhys Wolford was kind enough to loan his jersey, number 25, to a fellow teammate who forgot his. Once he found out he was starting, he then used lucky number 14, which came through for him as he was two-for-three on the night. What a great guy! ... Brad Smith, who was the starting catcher for Linglestown Legion this season, caught all seven innings. ... Linglestown used four pitchers to get some work before the playoffs begin next week. They only gave up a combined six hits. ... The team will play an intrasquad scrimmage Friday with some help from Linglestown Legion players.
