Village project update, part 1 of 5

Linglestown Gazette’s weeklong look at the planned Linglestown improvements begins by tackling the killer question related to the project – Why a roundabout at the square instead of traffic lights?

This decision has taken years of hard work and patience. I remember being a teenager and attending a candle-light vigil at the square.

I was accompanying my dad as he campaigned for the late Robert Kimmel (spelling?).

I can't believe that here we are in 2008, nearly 15 years later...with no actual construction being done.

I look forward to watching updates throughout the week on Linglestown TV to find out when this project will start.

I suggest, quite seriously, the idea of traffic police at both the square and by the old fire house. Specifically only during AM and PM rush hours during the week. Though old fashioned, it is more cost effective than either traffic circles or traffic lights. An added benefit is the nostalgic side. DRM
