Zellers powers Twilight to road win

Brian Zellers (pictured) had a double and a three-run blast to lead Linglestown Twilight to a 7-2 victory Wednesday over a solid Palmyra team.

Jason Kelly had a good outing on the mound, pitching the first four innings and only allowing two runs. Jim Miller made a two-inning relief appearance and Steve Booker closed out the game.

At the plate, Booker, Zellers, Sean Frailey and A.J. Granito each had two hits.

Twilight notes Booker has a team-leading .419 batting average. … Zellers is the team’s big home-run threat with six dingers. He also leads the team with 22 RBIs. … Top pitchers so far are Jason Kelly and Jack Muscalus with four wins apiece. … Linglestown (14-5-2) continues to pace the East Shore Twilight league with 30 points (two points for a win; one for a tie). Second-place Lykens/Wiconisco (11-8-0)) has 22 points. … The team returns to action next Wednesday, July 16, at Lykens, and then returns to Koons Park for a game against Lawnton on Thursday, July 17, first pitch at 6 pm.
