Lady Rams grab district b-ball title

On the strength of a last-minute scoring flurry for the ages, the defending state champion CD Lady Rams grabbed the PIAA District 3 Quad-A title away from the Wilson Bulldogs in a 34–30 thriller Friday night at the Giant Center.

Next up for the Rams is the state tournament that starts next week.

One of the problems with being a solo journalist is not having an editor, and, as you see, typos and other errors slip through from time to time.

So, in effect, Gazette readers are my editors, and comments like the two on this post are welcomed.

One thing that continues to really bug the heck out of me is "anonymous" comments. Please consider getting a Google account, or check the radio button for "name/URL" and use your name or initials. (I used the Name/URL option for this comment.)

I agree. I love the gazette and I think you are doing a phenomenal job, but come on Bill, stop the bellyaching (It's getting old) and just get rid of anonymous.

Well, it is a bit of rocket science since Blogger's settings for comments are somewhat limited – if anonymous comments are eliminated, the option for commenting by checking the button for "Name/URL" is also lost.

The idea is NOT to choke off comments by making it tougher to weigh in on an issue or advance a story – it's to raise the bar so people who comment are responsible for their comments.

Hey, I'd like to directly thank the person in a meaningful way that edited this post. How am I going to send a thank you note/e-mail or gift certificate to a person who goes by anonymous?

I'll kill anonymous comments after the community of readers who are willing to identify themselves by something other than anonymous is significantly larger.
