Dollars for video camera rolling in

Donations toward a new video camera for Gazette coverage of Linglestown baseball and other local events pulled in $60 on Tuesday.

The grand total received to date is $430 toward the $750 goal. (The ChipIn box located in the sidebar only shows online contributions.)

Thanks go out to the following readers for chipping in:

Kathy Bostic (B²’s Mom)
Rob Nease (publisher of Harrisburg at Home website and blog)
Eileen Arnold
Ken & Terri Stambaugh

If all goes as planned, the Gazette will provide game summaries for 17 teams affiliated with Linglestown Baseball Association (LBA) – Pony, Midget, Teener, Legion and Twilight divisions. The video camera will be used for game clips and player videos.

If a team scores five runs to win in the final inning, you’ll read about on the Gazette. If someone slams a pair of homers, yep, odds are the player will get a mention.

This is a big undertaking, but LBA President Steve Foltz is working on a system for coaches to call in or e-mail game info. Also, LBA baseball mom Karen Cattabiani has graciously agreed to do some reporting again this season.
