Linglestown baseball, weekend action

Midget: Orioles 9 – Braves 7 … In a Saturday game, Bailey Herold struck out eight in for four innings for the O's (2–1) and added two singles and two walks at the plate. Kiel Rutter homered for the winners. Christian Correale homered, singled and struck out six for the Braves (0–3).

Midget: Tigers 5– Cubs 1 … In another Saturday make-up game, Austin Barowski led the Tigers (3–0) with three hits, and Aaron Gress and J.T. Fredericks gave up only one run in 6 innings. Centerfielder Jake Grove made the play of the game with his throw to catcher Jordon Sellers that cut down a run and a potential big inning for the Cubs (0–2).

Pony: Owls 12 – Mets 6 … Powered by three shutout innings tossed by the Owls' Athan Graham and a stellar line out grab and double play by Logan Gabrielson in the first inning, the Owls (3–0) outlasted the Mets (1–1) in a make-up game played Saturday.

Pony: Colts 13 – Rams 7 … In a make-up game played Sunday, the teams battled early in the game until the Colts (2–1) pulled away from the Rams (0–3) in the top of the 5th inning. Jonathon Mata and Eric Hironimus turned in outstanding pitching performance, and Mata helped his own cause by smashing two triples. The Colts had a total of 12 team hits.
