Linglestown project moves forward

At long last, PennDOT is seeking construction bids for the Linglestown square project. Bids will be opened next month and groundbreaking is expected to happen late summer or early fall.

The village improvements that have been in the works include two traffic roundabouts, decorative streetlights, benches, stamped concrete sidewalks and trees.

On a related note, installation of a public waterline along Route 39 in the historic village as part of the project is still in limbo. Local officials with United Water Pennsylvania want to bring public-water service to the village but they are waiting for an OK from their corporate office, according to Lower Paxton Twp. manager George Wolfe.
