Notes from the Lower Paxton Twp. Board of Supervisors meeting conducted last Tuesday,
June 16:

* LP Police Officer Curtis McCoy was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

* LP Twp. Manager George Wolfe reported that fireworks have been scheduled on Sunday, July 5, at Koons Park starting at about 9:15 pm.

* After a public hearing, the supervisors unanimously approved an ordinance to start a Length of Service Awards Program (LOSAP) for volunteer firefighters and fire police officers. The ordinance establishes age and service requirements for the program, and sets the maximum monthly benefit of $250 per month. Also, a resolution was approved that calls for the township to contribute $60,000 per year to the LOSAP fund.

* Development plans were approved for two projects in Linglestown – building expansion at Linglestown Life United Methodist Church and a car wash on N. Mountain Road.
