Twilight extends winnings streak to six

Linglestown Twilight sandlot baseball team (6–1, East Shore Twilight League) blanked Lykens-Wiconisco 2–0 Sunday at Koons Park.

Jason Kelly (pictured) went the distance on the mound for Twilight, allowing only four hits and fanning nine. He also recorded a RBI when he doubled in the first inning to score leadoff batter Sam Phillps, who smacked a double to right field. Second baseman John Stahl got the other RBI when he plated Shawn Berwager in the third inning.

Upcoming games: Twilight will travel Tuesday to play Lawnton at Gerald H. Vanatta Memorial Park in Swatara Twp., 6 pm. This weekend the team will attempt to win the Rawlings Berkshire Showdown, a Reading-area tournament, for the second straight year.

I'm still looking for a game announcer to fill in for me when I'm unable to attend games. Please e-mail B² if you want to do some mic work.
