Bids opened for Linglestown improvements

The long-awaited makeover of Linglestown is on the verge of breaking ground later this summer.

Lower Paxton Twp. manager George Wolfe said tonight that PennDOT has opened construction bids and is preparing to award a $4 million contract to Etters-based Leon E. Wintermyer, Inc., the low bidder.

Planned improvements include two traffic roundabouts, decorative streetlights, benches, stamped concrete sidewalks and trees. The project is expected to take two construction seasons to complete.
