Twilight has big night at plate

Linglestown Twilight, two-time defending East Shore Twilight league champs, scored runs in punches Tuesday evening in Koons Park to defeat Middletown 11–5.

Twilight veteran hurler Pete Hayden only allowed three hits during a six-inning outing to pick up the win.

Offensively, Twilight piled up 16 hits and got production from every batting spot. Player/coach Steve Econ, catcher Bryan Stovall and left fielder Nate Shroy had three-hit games, and right fielder Kyle Hollingsworth was the top RBI-producer with three.

Twilight’s record stands at 13–2 (second place, one-point behind Palmyra). The team’s next home game is this Saturday, July 11, against Pennbrook, 5 pm.

Twilight note … Patriot-News reporter Eric Detweiler attended the game and wrote a feature article that appeared in this morning's edition, but I have not been able to locate a link to it on PennLive.
