Twilight pitcher Muscalus throws gem

Josh Muscalus (pictured) pitched a three-hitter and shortstop Scott Montgomery crushed a homer to lead Linglestown Twilight to a 1–0 win Tuesday at Koons Park over Lykens/Wiconisco.

Twilight notes … Muscalus, who played college ball at Lebanon Valley College, struck out nine and only issued three free passes. … Player/coach Steve Econ chipped in two singles to keep his hot streak at the plate alive. … First baseman Sean Frailey continued his stellar glove work by digging a throw out of the dirt from fill-in third baseman John Stahl to get the first out in seventh and final inning. … Twilight continues to sit on top of the East Shore Twilight League with a record of 17–3.

Next home game … Twilight will host Valley View for a doubleheader this Saturday, July 18, at Koons Park. Game times are 1 pm and 4 pm.

In other baseball news, a Gazette shout-out goes to the Linglestown Legion team for reaching the Dauphin County playoff championship round. They need to defeat Hummelstown tonight and Thursday to win the double-elimination league playoffs.
