Twilight plays three, wins two

On a great day to play two at Koons Park, Linglestown Twilight sandlot baseball team won a doubleheader Saturday over Valley View, a team from Schuylkill County.

In game one, Linglestown broke open a tied game in the sixth inning with three runs and went on to win 5–2. Third baseman Jon Stahl went three-for-three and catcher Ryan Goldberg picked up two RBIs with single in the sixth-inning rally. Brad Sanders went the distance on the mound.

Linglestown blew out Valley View in game two 12–1. Jason Kelly was the winning pitcher.

Lawnton clipped Linglestown 3–2 in Sunday’s contest at Koons Park by rallying for the winning run in the seventh inning. Linglestown left fielder Nate Shroy hit a solo round-tripper in the fourth and went three-for-three.

Twilight (19–5; first place) has a busy week ahead with four games to wrap up the regular season in the East Shore Twilight League:

Tuesday, Steelton at Koons Park, 6 pm
Wednesday, away game at Palmyra, 7 pm
Thursday, away game at Hummelstown, 6 pm
Friday, Pennbrook at Koons Park, 6 pm
