Youth baseball team snags Palmyra tourney

The Linglestown 10-and-Under All-Stars (pictured) claimed a second tournament championship this season by winning two of three games Saturday in Palmyra.

In first game, Linglestown defeated Elizabethtown 9–5 to advance to the championship round. Linglestown jumped out to an early 8–2 lead after two innings as Braydon Parr doubled twice and Jordy Sellers added another double. Christian Fox-Klein, Derek Danko and Mario Cattabiani also got on base with singles.

Palmyra scored an unearned run in the fourth inning of the second game to squeak by Linglestown 1-0 and force an extra game in the double-elimination tournament. Christian Fox-Klein turned in an outstanding performance on the mound by going the distance and allowing no earned runs on six hits.

In the final game, Linglestown pounded out eight runs on nine hits to defeat Palmyra 8-0 to win the title. Jordy Sellers pitched a complete-game shutout. Braydon Parr, Christian Fox-Klein and Bryson Allen all had a pair of hits for the champs.

The team won the Linglestown Futures Stars Tournament earlier this month.
