French student discovers American life in Linglestown

By John Robinson
for Linglestown Gazette

Seventeen-year-old Octave Leborgne, of La Chapelle-St-Mesmin, France, has spent most of August here in Linglestown, a guest of Todd and Cindy Rittle and their children, Jared, 16, and Lauren 13, of Fairway Estates.

The Rittle Family and Octave are participating in a homestay program of LEC, a Paris-based organization that has been sponsoring homestays for French students since 1972.

In a recent interview for the Gazette, Todd Rittle spoke of how much he enjoyed watching Octave experience things for the first time: his first baseball game; his first American cheeseburger; his first peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
