Middletown tops Twilight in title series game #3

A three-run burst of offense in the fifth inning carried Middletown to its second straight win over Linglestown Twilight by a count of 4–2 Wednesday at Koons Park. Middletown now leads the best-of-seven East Shore Twilight League championship series 2–1.

Linglestown scored a run in the first inning on two hits and an error. Middletown pitcher Chad Shell only allowed three hits and a run the rest of the way, and got the help of outstanding glove work from his outfield, especially right fielder Kevin Johnson.

Linglestown second baseman Scott Montgomery went two-for-three with a single and a double.

The series resumes Thursday at Middletown High School at 5:45 pm.
