Twilight wins baseball playoff opener

In a seesaw battle, Linglestown Twilight defeated Lawnton 6-5 in eight innings Sunday at Koons Park to go one up in a best-of-five semifinal series. Lawnton catcher Kris Kullman crushed a home run in the seventh to tie the game at five. In the eighth, Linglestown got a leadoff single from second baseman Shawn Berwager. Two batters later he scored the winning run on an error. Relief pitcher Brad Sanders was the winning pitcher.

Game two of the series will be played Monday at Lawnton. Game time is 5:45 pm.
