Comcast TV agreement up for renewal

The pending renewal of the Comcast cable TV franchise agreement will be the subject of a public hearing tonight when the Lower Paxton Twp. supervisors meet at the Municipal Center, 7:30 pm. The meeting will be broadcast live on Comcast channel 20.

Also, a development plan for Monticello Heights, a planned community on Crum Mills Road, will be up for a vote.

I'm not sure what would happen if Lower Paxton Twp. and Comcast were unable to come to terms on a franchise renewal agreement. My guess is that federal regulations include a process for resolving disputes.

I expect Lower Paxton officials to extend Comcast's franchise with little or no debate. Lower Paxton and several other municipalities in the Harrisburg area jointly negotiated the new deal.
