Grease Monkeys to perform at benefit concert

The Grease Monkey’s, a rock band made up of four children who attend Linglestown Elementary School, will be playing at the 12th Annual U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots Benefit Concert on Saturday, December 12 at Overtime Sports Bar in Hershey. Opening for Emily's Toy Box, the Grease Monkeys will take the stage at 11:00 pm. This show is for all ages (21 to drink) and admission is $5 or a new, unwrapped toy of equal or greater value.

Members making up the young rock band are Luke Diecidue, age 9, drummer, Jacob Diecidue, age 11, guitar player, Kristopher Ramstrom, age 10, bass player, and Kiersten Smith, age 10, singer.

All band members are neighborhood and school friends and have been playing together for the past three years. Over the past year they have had live performances for Relay for Life at the Susquehanna High School in June, St. Thomas Roasters in August, as well as a few large, private parties. The Grease Monkeys will be performing once again for Linglestown Elementary School students in the upcoming year, as well as returning to other venues in 2010.

The Grease Monkeys were AMAZING Saturday night! You must have played to over 200 adults who were singing and dancing to your songs. It was incredible to hear the audience shout for encores! Keep up the hard work, it is definitely paying off! I can't believe you're 9, 10 and 11 year-olds! I can't wait until your next gig. Rock On!
