Twilight keeps winning streak alive
In Wednesday sandlot baseball action, Linglestown Twilight recorded their seventh straight win by topping Lawnton 5–2 in an away game.Linglestown pitcher Rhys Wolford gave up a two-run roundtripper to Lawnton catcher Kris Kullman in the first inning.
In the fourth inning, Linglestown halved the score without a hit when shortstop Sam Phillips walked, stole second and third bases, and scored on a throwing error.
Twilight scored four in the sixth inning to lock up the game. Phillips and center fielder Scott Montgomery each had a RBI, and left fielder Nate Shroy plated two with a single.
Winning pitcher Wolford picked up a complete-game win. He struck out seven, walked one and hit a batter.
Linglestown (7–3) takes on Hummelstown (4–7) this evening at Koons Park, 6 pm.
