Twilight keeps winning streak alive

In Wednesday sandlot baseball action, Linglestown Twilight recorded their seventh straight win by topping Lawnton 5–2 in an away game.

Linglestown pitcher Rhys Wolford gave up a two-run roundtripper to Lawnton catcher Kris Kullman in the first inning.

In the fourth inning, Linglestown halved the score without a hit when shortstop Sam Phillips walked, stole second and third bases, and scored on a throwing error.

Twilight scored four in the sixth inning to lock up the game. Phillips and center fielder Scott Montgomery each had a RBI, and left fielder Nate Shroy plated two with a single.

Winning pitcher Wolford picked up a complete-game win. He struck out seven, walked one and hit a batter.

Linglestown (7–3) takes on Hummelstown (4–7) this evening at Koons Park, 6 pm.
