Twilight vaults into first place

Linglestown Twilight sandlot baseball team won two of three games over the weekend to move into first place of the East Shore Twilight League with a 15–8 record. The team will earn a bye in the first-round of the playoffs if they finish first or second.

On Friday at Koons Park, Twilight scored seven runs in the first inning and coasted to a 7–1 win over last-place Steelton. Brad Sanders pitched five innings of shutout ball to get the win, and Josh Muscalus finished out the game to earn a save. The offensive star of the game was shortstop Mark Frailey who went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Linglestown split a doubleheader on the road against Valley View on Saturday. According to The Patriot-News, pitcher Joe Leo threw a one-hitter to lead Linglestown to a 7–1 victory in the first game. In game two, Valley View scored in the bottom half of the first extra inning to edge Twilight 4–3.

Twilight will play the final home game of the regular season this Sunday against Hummelstown at Koons Park. Game time is 1:30 pm.
