Travel with Linglestown's French connection

Linglestown resident John Robinson will escort a group from the Harrisburg area to the south of France from October 29 through November 6, 2011. The group will fly to Marseille and board the River Royale riverboat to cruise north on the Rhône River through Provence and into Burgundy, two notable areas of the country.

Among the cities and towns to be visited are Arles, Avignon, Viviers, Tournon, Lyon, and Chalon-sur-Saône.

The trip includes seven nights on the riverboat, six shore excursions, all meals, and local wines.

John majored in French in college and earned a certificat d’études from the University of Montpellier, France. He taught French for 14 years in Susquehanna Township schools. Later he worked at the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission dealing with historic sites, tourism, and communications.

More recently, John has served as coordinator for LEC, a French company that places French students in American homes for three weeks each summer. Several LEC students have made Linglestown their “summer home” over the last three years.

The tour is sponsored by Holiday Tour and Travel of Lemoyne. For complete details, visit their website or phone Cindy at 763-7878. When you call, please say, "I saw it in the Gazette!"
