Linglestown church needs bricks

If you have some bricks that are taking up space in your garage or yard, please consider donating them to a local church that needs them for an upcoming project.

St. Thomas United Church of Christ plans to build a meditative labyrinth this spring in the meadow behind the church building. The church is located about a half-mile east of the village on Linglestown Road at Wenrich Street.

About 1,700 bricks are needed that will be placed in the ground to outline the labyrinth in a design that is shown below. Donations of bricks will be accepted in any number, any color, and they don't have to be perfect.

Please contact Kathie Gifford via e-mail if you have bricks to donate or need more information.

A former 4-story asylum was demolished along hwy 850 in Perry County last year. I don't remember the exact location, but I believe it's shortly before one reaches Landisburg when driving from Marysville. The pile of bricks and rubble is still on-site along with a sign / phone number that they are for sale. Might be cheap — or perhaps the church can coax a donation.
