Making a difference in Linglestown

Casey Fazzolari and her daughter, Madison, are working to make Koons Park a great place for people to visit. Below is their story ...

Madison and I go to Koons Park once a week and pick up all the trash throughout the park. It is amazing how good you feel when you are done and know that the other families that bring their children and animals to the park will be safe and be able to enjoy themselves without looking at all that trash.

During a recent outing, we met a nice family walking their dog and a police officer stopped and said he saw us picking up trash and wanted to thank us for our efforts. I told him we aren't rich but wanted to think of a way to help out our local community and families and what better way, since we also go there to play and would like it to be clean for everyone. Madison was so excited to speak with him and he told her that was being a very good girl and she is learning very good morals and manners. That made me feel like the richest women in the world and a good mommy.

The moral of the story is that you don't have to be rich to give back to your community.

You can read more about this dynamic duo on their website.
