Nott leads Linglestown to diamond wins

Linglestown's entry in the East Shore Twilight League, the Juggernauts (5–5–1), broke out of their early season funk this week with a pair of wins over teams ahead off them in the standings.

In a make-up game Wednesday in Middletown, Sam Nott, a CD grad who plays college ball at Mount St. Mary's University in Maryland, smacked a two-run homer in the fifth to lead the Juggernauts to an 8–2 victory. Susquehanna Twp. product Joe Leo, a pitcher during the school year with Lafayette College, picked up the win with seventh-inning relief from Sam Phillips, another Susquehanna Twp. grad who now plays infield at Shippensburg University.

At Koons Park on Thursday, the Juggernauts dueled in a see-saw game with Lawnton. With the game knotted at five at the end of regulation, Linglestown won it 6–5 in the bottom of the eighth on a walk off single by Sam Nott that scored Natt Shroy, a 2009 CD grad.

Tom Healy, a CD product who plays with Nott at Mount St. Mary's, and Susquehanna Twp. grad Kyle Hollingsworth hit solo roundtrippers for the Juggernauts, and Josh Muscalus got the win in relief of Pete Hayden, the team's ace pitcher.

NEXT HOME GAME – Tomorrow (Sunday, Jume 26) against first-place Palmyra, 5 pm
