FALL BALL REGISTRATION ... Linglestown Baseball Association will hold sign-ups for Fall Baseball on July 16, 23 and 30 from 9 to 11 am at the Koons Park Clubhouse.

NIGHT OUT EVENT RETURNS ... Lower Paxton Township's National Night Out celebration will be held Tuesday, August 2 at George Park located off Nyes Road, 6–9 pm. There will be displays, food, drinks, emergency vehicles and activities provided by the township's parks and recreation department.

SOFTBALL PROJECT ... The Softball Association of Linglestown is gearing up to reconstruct the backstop, dugouts and storage building at the field in Koons Park located next to the tennis courts. (Report courtesy of citizens watchdog group SWAN.)

WALKING TRAILS ... The Lower Paxton Township Greenway Committee is doing preliminary planning for a walking trial along a 1.5-mile stretch of Nyes Run, a tributary of the Beaver Creek that runs along Nyes Road. The committee also is identifying areas where construction of short sections of new sidewalks could connect existing developments or complete loops. YOUTH SPORTS CAMP ... New Hope Church is sponsoring a five-day camp for soccer, basketball, cheerleading, basketball and softball for boys and girls ages 5–11 on July 24–28, 6:30–8:45 pm; cost is $25 ($20 for second child, $15 for third or more); registration required. SAVE THE DATES … The Linglestown Merchants Association will hold a Fall Festival and special events to celebrate the completion of the village improvement project on Oct. 21, 22 and 23 (Friday–Sunday).
