Linglestown improvement project winding down

The punch list of items to complete the Linglestown project that started in November 2009 is growing smaller by the day. Below are findings from my inspection walk today:

– The cement base for the new flagpole is in place at the roundabout in the square.

– Four trash receptacles (pictured) were placed near the following businesses in the square: Lio's Pizza & Sub Shop, Eagle Hotel, Linglestown Restaurant and St. Thomas Roasters.

- The old entrance on Route 39 to Blue Mountain Parkway has been opened for westbound traffic only.

- The huge piles of debris in the farm field located just east of the village have been cleared away.

Also, the Village of Linglestown Committee met last week. CLICK HERE for meeting notes courtesy of community watchdog group SWAN.

SAVE THE DATE ... Friday, Oct 21 –The Linglestown square dedication ceremony and flag raising will be held at 11 am. The event is part of the Fall Festival Celebration sponsored by the Linglestown Merchants Association.
