5 Things You May Not Know About CD Schools

My phone rang the morning after the June 11 school board meeting and an unfamiliar voice said she was calling from the Central Dauphin administrative office.

The caller was the Shannon Leib, the district's public relations point person. She was on a mission to get me together with school board president, Ford Thompson, and the district's business director, Karen McConnell. They wanted to meet with me to answer questions that I asked during the June 11 meeting.

My powwow with them was very cordial, a lot of information was shared and the stage was set for ongoing dialogue with Thompson and McConnell. I also met Assistant Superintendent Dr. Carol Johnson, who will officially become the superintendent in a few days.

I came away from the meeting with five tidbits that may help you better understand the district's leaders and operations:

NOTE: The school board will meet Monday at 7 pm in the Central Dauphin East High School auditorium to approve the 2012-13 budget and conduct other business. The public is welcome to attend.
