Linglestown Twilight drops home opener

In sandlot baseball action Wednesday at Koons Park, Hummelstown jumped out to a 4–0 lead in the top of the first inning and coasted to a 6–3 victory to spoil Linglestown Twilight's first home game of the young season.

Linglestown settled down after the first inning but failed to muster a rally against winning pitcher Jim Miller, who went the distance for Hummelstown.

Top performers at the plate for Linglestown were right fielder Tom Healy with a home run and center fielder Sam Nott with two hits and a RBI.

Linglestown Twilight (1–3) has a chance to turn things around this weekend with an away game at Lawnton on Friday (6 pm start) and a home game at Koons Park on Saturday against defending league champion Palmyra (2 pm first pitch).
