Linglestown Road Warriors

Linglestown Area Civic Association (LACA) held its first “Adopt-A-Road” cleanup earlier this month in the village of Linglestown along Route 39 and N. Mountain Road.

The group found more trash than they originally believed was out there. It was very successful and very rewarding, said Doug Kepler, the association president.

Speaking of LACA, the group will hold its monthly meeting this Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7 pm in the front meeting room at Linglestown Fire Company's social hall (brick building).

Beyond beautifying the village, the association is working to stage the annual caroling and Christmas tree lighting event and something new and pretty darn cool – a New Year's Eve celebration in the village square.

"Bravo" to these men and women for their clean-up work! I have done it myself, and it's not really much fun. We should all think of ways we might be contributing to the litter along our roads and then take steps to prevent it. Thank you, Linglestown Road Warriors.
