Bear captured near Linglestown

According to today's Patriot News, a 238-pound black bear spent the weekend wandering around the Colonial Park neighborhood of Lower Paxton Township before it was captured Sunday morning.

The report also says the Pennsylvania Game Commission earlier this spring removed four bears that were living in the Linglestown area.

This is the second wildlife-in-suburbia story in recent days. In May, I spotted a doe in Koons Park.

Why didn't they leave that poor aniaml alone. They could have montitored it without all the hoopla until the guy with the dart gun got there. The only thing the police did was terrify it with the flashing lights and people running all around. That neighborhood, and Lower Paxton police should be ashamed of the way they handled the situation.
