UPDATE: Warning posted around Koons Park

Lower Paxton Twp. police are investigating the origin of signs posted over the weekend around Koons Park that said a child predator was in the area, according to LP Police Sergeant Greg Taylor.

Based on information on the signs, police are confident that the signs refer to a man who was arrested on sex charges last Tuesday, July 15. The man charged with the offenses contacted the police after the signs were posted around the park, said Taylor.

The accused is awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of unlawful contact with a minor, indecent exposure, and corruption of minors. As in all criminal cases, the accused individual is innocent until proven guilty.

what kind of sex charges? This is toooooo obscure. He could have recieved a citation for having sex in his car with his wife. Your blog makes it sound likethe posters were valid - also he is innocent until proven guilty.

I agree, just because someone hangs a sign and tries to incite a panic doesn't make it responsible reporting, even for a blog.
This is basically a witch hunt where anyone driving a black titan is assumed to be a child molestor without a shread of evidence.
Is this what this blog will become, a place for rumors and revenge?? Shame on you BB.

To clarify, the police are investigating the origin of the signs since the signs may be some type of violation of law.

The man arrested on sex charges contacted the police after the signs were posted around the park, according to a LP police spokesman. As has been said, this individual is innocent until proven guilty.

Charges against the accused are unlawful contact with a minor, indecent exposure, and corruption of minors.

To the two "anonymous" readers who posted comments –– Thanks for the input. I have limited experience doing police reports, and your input helped me to revise this post with the goal of clearly describing the situation without messing up an active police investigation.
