Weekend backyard news, 11.29.08

* Folk singer Gale Gardiner (pictured), a Connecticut resident who grew up in neighboring Susquehanna Twp., stopped by St. Thomas Roasters coffee house and graced a nice-sized gathering with her artistry Friday evening.

The quaint coffee house in the historic village of Linglestown is one of the few places in Lower Paxton Twp. that has a steady stream of FREE entertainment most Friday and Saturday evenings.

Music at Roasters tonight features The Snoods, 8–10 pm, no cover.

* Friday's edition of The Patriot-News had a story by T.W. Burger about a Lower Paxton Twp. women who is on a crusade to save a tract of land that is home to monarch butterflies as they travel through the area.
