Live music brewing at Roasters

Folk music is on the menu Friday at St. Thomas Roasters in Linglestown. Yup, that's right. Gale Gardiner (pictured), a Connecticut resident, is back in town visiting her parents and she is sure to dish out some tasty musical treats for those of you who break away from the boop tube to take in some live, fresh entertainment.

And it doesn't stop there, as acoustic guitar player Marie Smith will take the stage Saturday at the coffee house that serves as my satellite office. Marie has a gigantic catalog of music that includes covers from the likes of Sarah McLachlan, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Indigo Girls and CCR. Remember CCR those of you who are over 40?

The music will flow 8–10 pm both nights. As always, no one will hit you up for a cover charge at the door. But, and this is important, please buy some of Java Geof's coffee that is roasted on the premises. If you don't want a cup o' Joe, well ... go for some tea or a fruity cold drink. Is that too much to ask?
