Backyard News, 07.23.09

* Anyone see the blimp that passed by the Linglestown area Sunday evening? I didn’t see it. Was it the Goodyear blimp?

* Three Linglestown girls – Abigail Whitson, Katie Stadler and Maggie Schenfelt – are performing in the production of THE WIZ at the Harrisburg Christian Performing Arts Center. The play continues July 24, 25 and 26.

* Time is running out to use Lower Paxton’s leaf waste compost facility on Conway Road for free.

* Speaking of free stuff, Lower Paxton’s TGIF summer concert series continues this Friday at Brightball Park at 7 pm with a show by the High Tops. Be sure to pack a lawn chair.

* The Backyard News post for July 7 has over 30 comments from readers who weighed in on CD school officials looking into outsourcing the district’s bus fleet.

* A holiday song written by Frank Cotolo, a frequent performer at St. Thomas Roasters coffee house, is featured in a new video.

It was the DirectTV blimp. I saw it over the weekend while I was at Costco.
