Colonial Country Club headed for tax sale?

Central Penn Business Journal reported today that Colonial Country Club located west of the village of Linglestown along Route 39 will go up for sheriff's sale July 9.

However, if you're looking to buy the club on the cheap, odds are you won't get a chance to bid on it. Lower Paxton Twp.-based Triple Crown Corporation officials announced in May that they plan to buy and manage the country club.

The club borrowed millions of dollars in recent years to renovate the clubhouse and golf course. Like many golf facilities throughout the U.S., Colonial's membership count dropped when the economy tanked. Eventually the club defaulted on a mortgage.
