Midget football season kicks off Sunday, Aug. 27

The Linglestown Colts will host Steelton for a three-game set on Sunday, Aug. 27 at Koons Park. PeeWee game kickoff is scheduled for 1 pm; Pony and Midget games will follow.

The games were originally scheduled to be played in Steelton. Power problems in Steelton forced the game to be moved to Linglestown, according to the Linglestown Football Association's Web site.

State park near Linglestown

You can see a state park from Linglestown.

It’s true. The southernmost section of Boyd Big Tree Preserve Conservation Area is at the top of Blue Mountain, west of the power line towers. The entrance to the park is along Fishing Creek Valley Road in Middle Paxton Township.

There’s a public hike scheduled at the park from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, Aug. 20. CLICK HERE for more information.

Football at Koons Park

Youth football and cheerleading squads are already into their second week of practices at Koons Park. Linglestown Gazette tentatively plans to post schedules and game results this season.

Scenes from National Night Out

Several hundred people turned out on Tuesday evening, August 1, for Lower Paxton Township's National Night Out festivities at Koons Park in the village of Linglestown.


Hershey Medical Center's Life Lion flight team landed in the sandlot/teener ballfield.
